"That's What We Call Showtunes!" - A Modern Musical Review - August 24 and 25
THEATRE FOR EVERYONE!
To enrich our community by providing exceptional live theatre for people of all ages. We mentor the next generation of theatre lovers, and produce shows for the enjoyment of our audiences and volunteers.
On Saturday, August 24th, and Sunday August 25th, Ionia Community Theatre hosted a fundraising event at the Historic Ionia Theatre downtown titled: That's What We Call Showtunes! 2000-2019". 2 Different shows, providing 2 separate experiences with different songs!
The purpose of this fundraiser was to allow the community to assist in our volunteer organization obtaining new microphones for future shows. The cost of said microphones run to the tune of $500 and up. ICT's goal for the weekend was to raise $2000 to purchase 4 new microphone sets. ICT not only provided a quality concert experience, but a silent auction with around 50 items to bid on, and a bake sale including goods made by cast, crew, and community members as well.
Not only did ICT meet the goal, WE SURPASSED IT!!
The grand total for the weekend was $2489.34!
Ionia Community Theatre would like to thank everyone who came to support this effort. From audience members, to silent auction and bake sale donors, to pocket change contributors, without the support from the community of Ionia as well as surrounding areas, it would be impossible for Arts and Culture to thrive in Ionia! The generosity given not only this last weekend but with every show that ICT puts forth, is unbelievable, and insurmountable. This weekend showed us just how much you all support our presence and our growth and we are extremely grateful and appreciative.
If you missed the show, but still would like to contribute, you can do so through our GoFundMe Campaign: https://www.gofundme.com/manage/BigShowsBigSound OR find ICT on the Venmo app: @ioniacommunitytheatre
We look forward to seeing you at our future shows.
Keep an eye out for information for our next show, Noises Off, Directed by Paul Kiste, to be premiering in early October!
Our sincerest thanks, and warmest regards,
